There is nothing more tedious than transcription.  Fellow comm majors, am I right?  I’m totally right.  At least my data is interesting…  I’m analyzing an episode of the Nerdist Podcast with Wil Wheaton.

CH: And so:: (.) for the lon:gest ti::me (.) first of all:: you couldn’t even mention her name
WW: Right

CH: And if you di::d (.) we we uh >we started- he did it< enough times that we started doing it as uh:: a chant in unison you would you would uh because you wanted to make it happen [you

WW: [right

CH: would say her name=

WW: =Right=

CH: =and then this would come out (.)

WW&CH: ((in unison)) .hh don’t get me started (.) ↑don’t get me started (.)↑don’t get me started (.)↑FUCKING BITCH I HATE HER

((audience laughter))

WW: that was our ?war cry.

CH: that was our .war cry.

Less than thirty seconds of audio, and transcribing it took me an HOUR!!  How am I supposed to have 30 minutes done by Friday?  Ugh, well, I guess I’ll go back to watching Youtube videos of barking cats.
